Gilford Park Yacht Club Membership

STEPS TO MEMBERSHIP

Any citizen older than 21 and a property owner within the boundary limits set forth by Gilford Park Yacht Club is eligible to be a member provided the applicant has a sponsor. Sponsors are members who have met the requirement of being a member in good standing for at least one year.

Verify that as a potential member, you live and own property within Gilford Park Yacht Club’s parameters. Boundaries are as follows: east to west along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean to Hooper Avenue, including Island Heights. Hooper Avenue north to Kettle Creek Road, including Green Island. South from Kettle Creek Road crossing Barnegat Bay to include Toms River Township residents on the barrier island from Normandy Beach to Seaside Heights including Lavallette residents, crossing back across Barnegat Bay to the junction of Toms River.

-Dues are $750/annually effective 2025 with the exception of the first year when a $400 administrative fee is added.
Please note the $100 application fee will be applied to applicant’s dues once approved.

Once reviewed and approved by the Financial Secretary, the potential member will be notified and the application will be posted on the bulletin board on the main second floor for a period of 2 weeks. It is the responsibility of the sponsor and potential member to visit the Club on 3 separate occasions during the screening period and sign into the New Preceptive Member Book at each visit and have it countersigned by any member. It is also the responsibility of the sponsor to introduce the proposed member to club members during these visits. After fulfilling the required visits, the proposed member will be informed of the induction date. The sponsor must also be present at the induction (which will take place during a board meeting, second Saturday of each month), and introduce the proposed member.

A membership entitles the member to bring his/her spouse other/significant, children and up to a maximum of nine guests to the Club. Non-members MUST be accompanied by the member.

As a member of the Gilford Park Yacht Club, you have reciprocity to many yacht clubs! The participating yacht Clubs are listed in a Reciprocity book at the bar. You must present your GPYC member card to enter participating Yacht Clubs.
